Hope for Timely Outcome in Talks
WANA (Apr 25) – The spokesperson for the Iranian government emphasized that Iran remains cautious about the true intentions of the U.S. administration and supports dialogue free from pressure and threats.
In an interview with Japan’s NHK News, Fatemeh Mohajerani, the spokesperson, referred to the start of a new round of consultations with the United States and said: “We approach every negotiation with confidence and are prepared to do whatever is necessary for our national interests and the peace of our people. We hope the talks will yield results at the appropriate time.”
According to her, the first expert-level meeting to review the details of the agreements will be held on Saturday.
Mohajerani stressed once again that Iran remains wary of the U.S. government’s true motives and continues to support dialogue conducted without threats or pressure.
In response to a question about the Trump administration’s efforts to introduce non-nuclear issues—such as Iran’s missile program and its support for resistance groups in the region—into the talks, she emphasized: “These negotiations are strictly limited to nuclear issues, and we reject any attempt to broaden the scope of the discussions.”
